About Chicago Art Department
Chicago Art Department offers workshops in live video production, intro and advanced silk screening, reactionary drawing and dasics intro to art (Grades 6-12). Visit Chicago Art Department Studios at 1732 West Hubbard Street any Saturday in April between 12pm and 6pm for Open Gallery and Studios. The public is invited to join the creative exchange, talk with artists, check out new work and provide feedback on art works still in production. Studios and gallery will be open every Saturday in April from 12pm - 6pm.
On June 4th at the Chicago Cultural Center (78 East Washington Street), photographers, video artists, and performers from Chicago Art Department will collaborate on a live video art podcast. The CADTV hosts, discusses, critiques and improvises around audience participation while attempting to create a unique document of the other art centers and of the event itself. Audience members control the cameras and mixers while learning and collaborating with CAD reporters.
