About Hyde Park Art Center

Hyde Park Art Center offers a wide variety of studio art classes including painting, drawing, ceramics, photography, and crafting (knitting, textiles, quilting). Visit Hyde Park Art Center, at 5020 South Cornell Avenue on May 13, from 7pm - 11pm for Drink, Draw, and Destroy. This 45-minute drawing lesson in the school and studio is lead by teaching artist Jeriah Hildwine, and features drink specials sponsored by Chant Restaurant. Live DJ's keep tunes playing while artist Conrad Freibur invites visitors to create and destroy small works of art in his "SCUE" (Self-Contained Unit of Entropy).

On June 4th at the Chicago Cultural Center (78 East Washington Street), Hyde Park Art Center teaching artist Meredith Easburn will show do-it-yourself techniques for making fabulous creations out of paper. Learn how to make artist books, trading cards and more. Take your creations back to the Hyde Park Art Center booth to trade them, decorate them, or just to see what other people have made.
