About South Side Community Art Center





South Side Community Arts Center offers workshops and classes in digital photography for arts, painting for adults, and painting for youths. Visit South Side Community Art Center at 3831 South Michigan Avenue on April 30th at 9am for Off The Wall, a collaborative effort between the South Side Community Art Center (SSCAC), Chicago Public Art Group (CPAG) and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), is an exhibition which recognizes the contributions of Chicago muralists who are alumni of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In addition to the exhibition, the partners are hosting a Mural Tour through the Bronzeville, Kenwood and Hyde Park neighborhoods, led by Chicago Public Art Group Executive Director Jon Pound on April 30th. Visit the public work of SAIC alums Calvin Jones, Justine Devan, Marcus Akinlana, and Santi Isrowuthakul. The cost to attend is free, however space is limited. On June 4th at the Chicago Cultural Center (78 East Washington Street), photographer Tony Smith will be demonstrating the process of multi-media video production.
